Raw Vegan “Brownie” Balls

Made from homemade almond butter, cacao powder, and a few other simple organic ingredients.  You can enjoy a few as a healthy dessert or pop one on the go for a boost of energy throughout the day.  My toddlers love them!

This nutrient dense treat is high in manganese and vitamin E,  and a good source of heart healthy fats, antioxidants, magnesium, B-12, copper, and phosphorus.  This special snack will assist in weight loss,  gently stimulate blood flow, and enhance mood.

All you’ll need to make this delicious treat:IMG_20130823_123907

  • 2 cups raw almonds
  • 1/2 cup organic raw cacao powder (not cocoa powder)
  • 1/3 cup organic raw agave nectar
  • 1/2 cup organic raisins
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 2 tbsp. cinnamon

First, blend the almonds in a food processor for about ten minutes until you get a nice creamy consistency.  You’ll probably have to stop a few times to scrape the sides with a spatula and even out the almonds (they tend to lump in a ball the first few minutes).


After the almond butter is ready, scrape it into a medium bowl and combine the rest of the ingredients.  Mix well until all ingredients are blended and you get a consistency similar to cookie dough.  Roll into balls and place in dish for refrigeration.  Balls may crumble slightly and be oily so you may need to pinch them together as you roll.



Store in an air tight container and refrigerate for up to a week.  Although, I doubt they will last that long 😉
